Sveinung Stensland (born November 6, 1972 in Haugesund ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative party Høyre . He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2013 .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1991, Stensland studied pharmacy from 1992 to 1997 at the University of Oslo . He then worked as a pharmacist, researcher and production manager in various positions. Between 2000 and 2011 he was regional manager of the pharmacy chain Apotek 1 . From 2007 to 2015 he was a member of the Haugesund City Council , and between 2007 and 2013 he was also a member of the Fylkesting in the province of Rogaland . Stensland headed the Høyre party in Rogaland from 2012 to 2016.

In the parliamentary elections in 2013 , Stensland missed entry into the Norwegian national parliament Storting and he became Vararepresentant , i.e. a substitute member. As such, he was used for almost the entire legislative period, as his party colleague Bent Høie had to suspend his mandate as health minister . He represents the constituency of Rogaland and he became a member of the Health and Welfare Committee. In the 2017 election he was elected directly to parliament for the first time. He remained on the Health and Welfare Committee and became its second vice chairman.
