Sven Clement

Sven Clement (born January 19, 1989 ) is a Luxembourg politician. He is co-founder and since 2010 president of the Lëtzebuerg pirate party .

Clement studied business informatics at the University of Saarland , where he was also represented for the Pirate Party in the university's student parliament.

He now lives in Bereldingen , and runs a consultancy for digital communication with his party colleague Jerry Weyer .

In 2010, Sven Clement was elected to the student parliament of Saarbrücken University together with three other candidates from the Pirate Party. In 2011 the PiratenHSG was able to join the coalition again.

The pirate party was also in the coalition that the university's AStA elects. In this way, Sven Clement was responsible for the University of the Greater Region (UGR), for public transport and for international cooperation.

He is a founding member of the Lëtzebuerg pirate party, which was founded in October 2009, and was elected its first (and to date only) president. He was confirmed in this post during the national congress on December 10, 2017 . He has been chosen as the top candidate of the Pirate Party for the chamber elections of October 14, 2018 for the constituency center. The Pirate Party was able to secure 6.45% of the votes at the national level and 5.14% in the center. So Sven Clement was able to move into the chamber together with the top candidate in the south, Marc Goergen.

He has been treasurer of the European Pirate Party since 2015 .

After the then Justice Minister François Biltgen reported data theft in the "Medicoleak" affair, a judicial search of Clement's house followed in the course of the investigation. In October 2014 the court sentenced Clement to a fine for stealing internal data and hacking .
