Sven Piayda

Sven Piayda (* 1977 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a contemporary German artist who uses photography , video , sound and computer-manipulated and generated image material.

Life

Piayda studied design technology from 1998 to 2003 at the University of Duisburg-Essen . During his studies he began to take part in various exhibitions with photographs. Since 2006 he has been teaching image processing, vector-based design, computer-generated image creation, digital 3D design and audio vision. He also gives lectures on the digital in art and is active as a musician with various projects of various styles such as AESTATE and Record Of Tides. He has been running a blog since 2003 , in which he deals with personal and art-related topics.

He lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr and Luxembourg .

The reflective aspect of the media used and their manipulative technology plays an important role in his work. His video installations and photographs reflect the possibilities of themselves. The works often cite media or art history, play with the postmodern idea of ​​remixing or mirroring the process of image production and consumption.
