Sven Schimmel (born July 30, 1989 in Reutlingen ) is a German football player .

He joined VfB Stuttgart in 2001 as a youth from SV Rommelsbach . There he was with the A-Juniors South German Champion. For the 2008/09 season he was part of the squad of the second team at VfB Stuttgart for the first time.

Schimmel made his professional debut on October 25, 2008 on the eleventh day of the 2008/09 season for VfB II in the 3rd division against Fortuna Düsseldorf . At the beginning of the 2011/12 season, the defender moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden . His contract term ended in summer 2013. Schimmel then moved to SSV Reutlingen. In 2015 he joined the SGV Freiberg .
