Sven Thieme

Sven Thieme (born February 8, 1968 in Windhoek , Namibia ) is a Namibian manager. Among other things, he is CEO of Ohlthaver & List , the largest private company in Namibia.

Life

Thieme graduated from the German Higher Private School in Windhoek in 1987 . He graduated from the University of Cape Town in Cape Town ( South Africa ) with a degree in auditing in 1991 . He then completed training as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche in Cape Town from 1992 to 1995 . From 1994 to 1998 he worked as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche in Luxembourg .

After the death of his grandfather and company founder Werner List , he took over as CEO of Ohlthaver & List in 2002. He had been with the company since 1998, from 2001 to 2002 as general manager. He also sits on the supervisory boards of seven subsidiaries. In 2004, when he founded the Development Bank of Namibia, he became its chairman. In 2010 Thieme was appointed to the supervisory board of the public service Namibian Broadcasting Corporation . Since 2014 he has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Christian Thieme is a cousin.
