Sven Justus Fredrik Wollter (born January 11, 1934 in Gothenburg , † November 10, 2020 in Luleå ) was a Swedish actor .

life and career

Wollter was considered one of Sweden's most renowned actors. He became known to an international audience in the role of Victor in Andrei Tarkowski's drama Victim . German television viewers know him as Commissioner Van Veeteren in the film adaptations of the crime novels by the Swedish writer Håkan Nesser .

Wollter was a member of the Kommunistiska partiet Sweden for many years .

Wollter's first marriage was to the writer Maja-Brita Mossberg and his second marriage to the actress Annie Jenhoff . From 2003 he was married to the radio journalist Lisa Wede for the third time .

Wollter died in November 2020 as a result of COVID-19 .

Sven Wollter was awarded the Guldbagge for Best Actor in 1985 and 2002 . In 2013 he was awarded the Litteris et Artibus medal .
