Svend Erik Rasmussen

Svend Erik Rasmussen (born December 21, 1923 , † June 11, 1972 ) was a Danish pastor and provost .

Life

Svend Erik Rasmussen came from Funen . After studying theology, he came to Greenland in 1952 , where he was appointed helper and seminary teacher in Nuuk . After a year he was appointed pastor of Uummannaq . In 1961 he replaced Holger Balle as provost of Greenland. He was very committed to society and a member of several committees. From 1962 to 1968 he was chairman of the supervisory board of Knud Rasmussenip Højskolia . He was also the editor of the church page in the Atuagagdliutit . In 1968 he left Greenland and was appointed Provost of the Diocese of Haderslev . At the same time he became a Greenlandic lecturer in Denmark. He died just four years later at the age of 48. In 1982 Motzfeldt Hammeken published a five-page biography in the yearbook of the Haderslev diocese.
