Svend Fleuron (born January 4, 1874 at Gut Katrinedal , † April 5, 1966 in Humlebæk ) was a Danish writer.

Life

Svend Fleuron grew up as the son of a landowner and after graduating from school he started an officer career. In 1921 he retired from the military and from then on lived as a writer on his estates. Several lecture tours took him through Denmark and Germany . In 1941 he took part in the Weimar poets ' meeting and wrote in the magazine "Europäische Literatur" of the European Writers' Association founded there "enthusiastically about the war". Fleuron worked as a writer on nature and, above all, as an animal writer, and in his texts he went far beyond just depicting animals. He wrote especially about animals living in the wild, which he knew how to depict with great linguistic skill in their drive- and instinct-guided nature. He succeeded in writing modern animal novels with a noticeable love of fauna .
