Svenja Brunckhorst

Svenja Brunckhorst (born October 19, 1991 in Rotenburg (Wümme) ) is a German basketball player .

career

Born in Rotenburg (Wümme) , Brunckhorst moved with her family to Wasserburg am Inn at the age of ten . She played in the youth of TSV 1880 Wasserburg and was appointed to the German national teams in the age groups U16, U18 and U20. With the Wasserburg women's team, the 1.79-meter-tall winger was German champion in 2008 and 2011 and cup winner in 2011.

After a stopover at USC Freiburg in the 2011/12 season, she returned to Wasserburg. In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Brunckhorst again won the German championship with Upper Bavaria and the cup competition in 2014, 2015 and 2016. With Wasserburg she also played in European club competitions. Brunckhorst achieved her highest point average in the Bundesliga during the 2015/16 season, when she got 8.6 points per game.

During the summer break of 2016, she moved to the Spanish first division club Cadí La Seu, and in the run-up to the 2017/18 season she joined the French first division club Cavigal de Nice. She returned to Wasserburg for the 2018/2019 game year.

The winger made her debut in the German senior team in May 2013. She rose to become captain of the DBB selection. In August 2019 she became German champion in the basketball game "3-on-3" .
