Svenn-Erik Medhus (born June 22, 1982 in Kristiansand , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player . He is 1.98 m tall and weighs 97 kg.
Medhus, who currently plays for the Norwegian club ØIF Arendal and plays for the Norwegian men's national handball team, is a handball goalkeeper .
Svenn-Erik Medhus began playing handball in his home town of Randesund. Later he came to the youth department of the next bigger Kristiansands IF. There he made his debut in the Norwegian first division in 2001, but his club was always overshadowed by the big clubs from Drammen and Sandefjord. The latter signed Medhus in 2007. At Sandefjord TIF , Medhus managed to prevail against Sindre Walstad and Stig S. Johansen in a very short time and to become the goalkeeper. Then Medhus came into the sights of foreign clubs: In February 2008 he was loaned by the German GWD Minden until the end of the season to replace his injured goalkeeper Malik Beširević ; he was finally signed in the summer. In 2010 Medhus switched to the Norwegian association ØIF Arendal.
Svenn-Erik Medhus has so far played 46 international matches for the Norwegian men's national handball team. At the European Championships in 2008 in his own country, however, he was not part of his country's squad.
