Malik Beširević (born April 1, 1972 in Banja Luka ) is a former German handball player and today's coach . He is 1.94 m tall and weighs 94 kg.

Career

Malik Beširević initially played for Borac Banja Luka and Rudar Labin in Croatia. In 1993 he moved to the Dutch club Sittard. Here the handball goalkeeper took on Dutch citizenship and committed himself to play for the national team for five years. With Sittard he won four championships and three cup wins. In addition, he was named handball player of the year in 1999.

In 2000 he was hired by GWD Minden . Except for the 2002/03 season, in which he ran up for the Spanish club CB Cantabria Santander , he has since guarded the gate in Minden. On November 29, 2007, he took German citizenship. In the summer of 2009, Beširević wanted to move to HSG Nordhorn-Lingen , but after the HSG's forced relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga, he decided for the Spanish club Portland San Antonio .

From 2011 Malik Beširević worked for the Minden fourth division club TSV Hahlen as a goalkeeper coach, reserve goalkeeper and in talent development. In the summer of 2014 he took over the coaching position from the national league club HSG EURo and shortly afterwards began to work as a goalkeeper coach at GWD Minden. In January 2015, HSG EURo separated from him. His work as a goalkeeping coach in Minden also ended in the summer of 2017.

He played 33 internationals for the Dutch national team and two internationals for the Bosnian national team.
