The Svishtov Cove (English; Bulgarian залив Свищов saliw Swishtov ) is a 2.19 km wide and 1.48 km long bay on the northwest coast of the Ray Promontory on the Byers Peninsula of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It lies between Essex Point in the northeast and Start Point in the southwest. Belene Cove forms its northwest branch .
British scientists mapped them in 1968, Chilean ones in 1971, Argentine ones in 1980, Spanish ones in 1992, and Bulgarian ones in 2005 and 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them in 2005 after the town of Swishtov in northern Bulgaria .
