Suttisak Singkhon (also Sutthisak Singkhon ; born October 5, 1996 in Maha Sarakham ) is a Thai athlete who specializes in the decathlon .

Athletic career

Suttisak Singkhon gained his first international experience in 2015 when he finished fifth at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore with 6556 points. Two years later he won the gold medal in the decathlon at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar with 7732 points. He also qualified for the World Championships in London , where he could not finish his competition . Then he won at the South East Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur with 7411 points, the silver medal behind the Filipino Aries Toledo and was fourth in the long jump with 7.59 m. He then won the silver medal in the indoor heptathlon behind Saudi Mohammed Jasem al-Qaree at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat with a new national record of 5332 points . In the following year he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and won the silver medal behind the Japanese Keisuke Ushiro with a new national record of 7809 points .

In 2019 he took part in the Summer Universiade in Naples for the first time , where he won the bronze medal with 7511 points behind New Zealander Aaron Booth and Alec Diamond from Australia. At the beginning of December he had to end the decathlon early at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas , but won the bronze medal in the long jump with 7.89 m behind the Indonesian Sapwaturrahman and Andre Anura from Malaysia.
