Keisuke Ushiro (born July 24, 1986 in Ebetsu ) is a Japanese athlete who specializes in the decathlon .

Athletic career

Keisuke Ushiro played his first international competition at the Asian Games in Guangzhou , where he finished fourth with 7702 points. The following year he took part in the World Championships in Daegu and finished the competition with 7639 points in 20th place. In 2012 he won the silver medal behind Kazakhs Dmitri Karpov at the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou with 5590 points . He also qualified for the Olympic Games in London , reaching 7842 points Place 20 . He finished the 2013 World Championships in Moscow with 7751 points in 22nd place. In 2014, he won the Asian Games in Incheon with 8088 points. In 2015 he again took part in the World Championships in Beijing and finished them again in 20th place with 7532 points , as well as at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with 7952 points .

At the World Championships in London in 2017, he was also ranked 20th with 7498 points . In his third participation in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta , he won again with 7878 points ahead of Sutthisak Singkhon from Thailand .
