The Swarsen Nunatak is an approximately 2200 m high, distinctive and mostly snow-covered nunatak in the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 8 km southwest of Mount Jackson .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1976 after Lieutenant Commander Ronald J. Swarsen of the United States Navy Reserve Forces , a physician at Byrd Station in 1971 and at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in 1973.
