Svetlana Vladimirovna Popova ( Russian Светлана Владимировна Попова , English transcription : Svetlana Popova, born July 2, 1988 in Kolomna ) is a Russian beach volleyball player .

Career

Popowa played her first open tournaments of the FIVB World Tour with Anastassija Wassina in 2008 and achieved 41st place as the best result. In her first Grand Slam in 2009, she came in 17th place with Natalja Nikolajewna Urjadowa in Moscow. In the same year she was with Yevgenia Ukolowa fifth at the U23 European Championships in Jantarny . In 2010 she took part in two open tournaments with Anna Wosakowa .

2012 Popowa returned at the Grand Slam in Moscow and was ninth with Marija Andrejewna Prokopjewa . In 2013 she first played a few tournaments with Ukolowa before reuniting with Prokopjewa at the Grand Slam in The Hague . At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki, Prokopjewa / Popowa were eliminated without a win after the preliminary round.
