Pigeon tower

The pigeon tower is isolated around 400 m southwest of Swinton House. Despite the fact that the round tower from 1746 was restored in the course of the 20th century, it has been listed in the register of endangered listed buildings in Scotland since 2008.

The masonry consists essentially of rubble from sandstone and is partially plastered with Harl . A plaque above the bricked entrance on the east side shows the year of construction. There is a lantern with arched entry holes. 797 nesting boxes are lined up along the inner walls.
