Swiss Mountain Holiday Radio is a private radio program in German-speaking Switzerland that mainly targets tourists with a music program with a Swiss character. The program is organized by SwissMountainHolidayRadio AG ( Burgdorf BE ), the owner of which Christian Starke was the sole shareholder when it was founded and has remained managing director to this day. The station is now owned 60 percent by Allmediaconsulting AG and 20 percent each by Radio Emme AG and Radio Rottu Oberwallis AG.The program is designed by 16 permanent and 16 unpaid freelancers. The entire program is archived long-term and is also available to external interested parties.
history
The station goes back to a cooperation of various local radio stations from the mountain and peripheral regions ( Radio BeO , Radio Engiadina & Radio Südostschweiz , Radio Friborg , Radio neo and RRO Radio Rottu Oberwallis ) in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Chur (HTW), where the transmitter is located.
On September 19, 2007, the station was granted a license for “a regional language DAB radio with a service contract without a fee component” (i.e. financed by advertising). The service mandate describes in principle "a contribution to the variety of offers and the introduction of digital terrestrial radio (T-DAB) in German-speaking Switzerland."
program
The program offers a high proportion of Swiss music with a focus on “Album Oriented Rock” (AOR) and, in the area of verbal contributions, information from the mountain and peripheral regions.
The station offers additional services accompanying the program and services for tourism in the broadcasting area. In addition to the live stream on the Internet, individual programs are available for download.
distribution
The program, which previously started with non-stop music in test mode, has been officially distributed since April 2010 in the second German-speaking Swiss multiplex on channel 7D of SwissMediaCast, which started on October 15, 2009 in the metropolitan areas of Zurich , Basel and Bern . Central Switzerland and the Aargau / Schaffhausen region followed in 2010 .
The program is also available as a live stream on the broadcaster's website .
