Syahrul Sazali learned to play football at the National Football Academy in Singapore. He signed his first contract with the Young Lions in 2016 . The Young Lions are an U-23 team that was founded in 2002. U23 national players and perspective players play in the team . They should be given the opportunity to gain match practice in the first division, the Singapore Premier League . He was on the field 66 times for the Young Lions by the end of 2019. In 2020 he moved to Tampines Rovers . He won the Singapore Community Shield with the club in 2020. The game against Hougang United was won 3-0.
