Sybill Storz
Sybill Storz (born June 4, 1937 in Leipzig ) is a German entrepreneur. From 1996 to 2018 she managed the family business Karl Storz Endoskope in Tuttlingen and has received several awards for her entrepreneurial achievements.
Life
Sybill Storz was trained in a boarding school in French-speaking Switzerland . One focus of her training was on foreign languages. At the end of the 1950s she joined the family-owned company Karl Storz Endoskope and assisted her father, the founder Karl Storz , in managing the company. After the death of his father in 1996, Sybill Storz took over the management and continued to expand the company. On January 1, 2019, she handed over the management to her son Karl-Christian Storz.
Awards
In addition to honorary awards from medical associations, Sybill Storz has also received several awards for her entrepreneurial activity and social commitment. In 2005 she received the Prix Veuve Clicquot as “Entrepreneur of the Year 2004”, the Staufer Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg, in 2004 as the first and so far only woman the Rudolf Diesel Medal , the seal of the German Society for Surgery , and in 2006 the Social Market Economy Prize the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung , the “Entrepreneur of the Year 2006” award from the European Council for Women, Enterprises and Trade (CEFEC) and the award from French President Jacques Chirac for the best woman entrepreneur in Europe. In 2007 she was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor . In 2014 Sybill Storz was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg .
Honorary doctorates
Sybill Storz has been awarded honorary doctorates by the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the Scottish University of Dundee for her services in the medical field .
