Sybille Straubinger (born November 14, 1970 in Bruck an der Mur , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Since 2004 she has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council . From 2016 to 2018 she was state party secretary of the SPÖ Vienna .

Life

Sybille Straubinger first studied political science and English from 1989, before switching to political science as a major and a combination of subjects in 1990. In 1995 she completed her studies with a Magister degree and subsequently worked from 1996 to 1997 as a member of parliament for Josef Cap, Member of the National Council . From 1997 to 1999 she was the district manager of the SPÖ Hernals , after which she took parental leave until 2001 after the birth of her son. Straubinger was a senior consultant at a PR agency from 2001 to 2004. From 2011 to 2013 she completed a General Management MBA from the Vienna University of Technology and the Danube University Krems .

Straubinger was initially politically active in the Hernals district organization and has been a member of the district board since 1998. Since 2000 she has also been the district chairwoman and since 2002 deputy district chairwoman. In 2003 she became a member of the Vienna Women's Committee and has represented the SPÖ in the Vienna State Parliament and City Council since 2004. In the 18th legislative period she is a member of the “Education, Youth, Information and Sport” and “Culture and Science” committees.

Sybille Straubinger has a son.
