sycat ( Sy stematische C IN A nalysis T ools) is a process management software companies design and development. It uses the swimlane display, often also referred to as the organizational process display (OPD), for the structure and process organization of the company.

Areas of application

Process management , especially for the visualization and description of processes ( business process modeling ) as part of the introduction of a quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001 . 16,500 sycat licenses are in use in 1,650 companies worldwide.

history

The software developed by Hartmut F. Binner was continuously supplemented by various components. Many of the components and functions were deemed necessary directly from the consulting business and integrated into the tool.

The prototype of the sycat tool was presented on the market as early as 1988 at CeBIT as the first process modeling software. In 1999, the sycat-mobile module won the technology prize advertised by the Hanover Technology Center for the use of innovative multimedia technologies and applications. Under the patronage of Lower Saxony's Minister of Economics, Walter Hirche, and Hans-Georg Martensen, the head of the Hanover region's economics department, the workflow solution integrated in sycat received the 2003 Innovation Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of information technology . From the company Dr. Binner CIM-House GmbH developed into the educational institute Prof. Binner Akademie in 2006 and in 2007 the binner IMS GmbH. The successor company binner IMS has been the contact person for the sycat software and associated services since February 1, 2007. The founder Hartmut F. Binner is no longer active in the binner IMS GmbH.

On March 1, 2012, binner IMS GmbH was renamed sycat IMS GmbH, which develops and sells the sycat software. Consulting, which has been active since the company was founded in 1994, was removed from the company as part of the company's name change and is now the subject of the newly founded company proWert GmbH.

description

The process management tool sycat is a modular standard software for BPM. It enables that

  • Modeling,
  • Analysis, simulation,
  • Optimization,
  • Documentation and
  • Automation (workflow)

of business and operational processes.

Business processes relate to the dispositive, planning and controlling processes in the company. In the operating processes, the operational processes, i.e. the value-adding activities, are described. Both business and operational processes can be represented graphically in different ways. The visualized processes form the basis for a process-oriented design approach to the core processes. The work processes can be mapped by viewing and documentation variants, regardless of the industry and size of a company.

construction

sycat has a modular structure and comprises the following areas:

All sycat modules access the same database so that once recorded data can be further processed by the individual modules. This allows processes to be viewed from different management perspectives.
