The synagogue at Schorlachstraße 23a in Bruck , a district of Erlangen in Bavaria , was built in 1707. The derelict synagogue has been a protected monument since 1981 .

history

In 1707, Margrave Christian Ernst allowed the Jewish community in Bruck to build the synagogue, which was financed by a loan from the margrave court factor Samson Salomon from Baiersdorf .

As a result of emigration and emigration, the number of members of the Jewish community decreased so much from the middle of the 19th century that the synagogue was sold to the grain dealer Georg Lederer on May 10, 1876. The subsequent owner converted the building into a barn .

The half-timbered building with a gable roof and added round arched windows on the east wall is located on the rear part of the Schorlachstrasse 23a property. The building is now used for storage and residential purposes and has been extensively renovated.
