Synagogue in Commercy

The synagogue in Commercy , a French town in the Meuse department of the Lorraine region , was built in the 16th century. The secular synagogue at No. 1 rue des Juifs was classified as a Monument historique in 1926 .

history

The Renaissance- style synagogue is located in the former Jewish ghetto . The building was converted into a residential building after the First World War . The outside staircase that led to the women's gallery is still there and the place of the law boards on the facade is also visible.
