Synagogue in Kyjov (around 1930)

The synagogue in Kyjov , a Czech town in the South Moravian region , was built in 1851/52. The synagogue , which stood on the site of a previous building from around 1610, was on Židovská Street.

The synagogue not far from the town hall was damaged by vandalism during the German occupation in World War II . It was demolished in the early 1960s as part of urban redevelopment .

Since 2002 a memorial stone in the form of a Star of David has been commemorating the synagogue and the former Jewish community .
