The synagogue in Thalmässing , a market town in the Central Franconian district of Roth , was built in 1857/58. The synagogue was on the Ringstrasse, where the old synagogue previously stood.

history

When the Jewish community of Thalmässing was dissolved in 1937, the synagogue was closed. Six Torah scrolls came to the Association of Bavarian Israelite Congregations in Munich.

The synagogue building was used as a granary during the Second World War and then as a gymnasium until the 1960s . In 1972 the building was demolished and a residential house was built on the property.

Commemoration

A memorial stone for the synagogue was set up not far from the location of the synagogue.
