Synagogue in Dabrówno
Entrance and plaque

The synagogue in Dąbrówno ( German Gilgenburg ), a village and seat of a rural community in the powiat Ostródzki in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The derelict synagogue has been a protected architectural monument since 1991 .

The synagogue building, made of red bricks, stands on the main street, which was called the Polish suburb .

During the November pogrom in 1938 , the synagogue was set on fire and the inside was completely destroyed.

After 1945, the synagogue building served as a storage room for decades and fell into disrepair.

Commemoration

A memorial plaque on the synagogue building has been reminding of its former use since 2002 .
