Synagogue in Józefów (2013)

The synagogue in Józefów , a Polish city ​​in the Lublin Voivodeship , was built at the end of the 18th century on the site of a previous wooden building from 1744. The secluded synagogue on the corner of Biłgorajska and Górnicza streets has been a protected cultural monument since 1969 .

The baroque synagogue was devastated by the German occupiers during World War II and used as a shop after the war.

In the 1980s the synagogue building was renovated and the city library set up in it.
