history
In 1856 the Jewish community in Iglau built a small house of prayer. As the number of parishioners increased, this became too small, so that a large synagogue was built in 1863. The neo-Romanesque building in the city center was financed by donations. Joachim Jacob Unger worked here as rabbi from 1860 until his death in 1912 .
After the German occupation, a fire was set in the synagogue on March 16, 1939, which burned out completely. The ruin came into the possession of the city, which had it demolished in 1950.
