The synagogue in Třešť (German Triesch ), a town in Okres Jihlava in the Vysočina region ( Czech Republic ), was built in 1824/25. The derelict synagogue has been a protected cultural monument since 1988 .

history

After a major fire in the city that destroyed the entire Jewish ghetto with the synagogue, the Jewish community in Triesch had a new synagogue built in the Empire style, which was inaugurated in September 1825.

Today the former synagogue building serves as a meeting place for the Czech Hussite Church . Two exhibitions can be seen in the extensively restored building: a documentation on the history of the Jewish community of Triesch and the Franz Kafka exhibition in Třešť .
