The synagogue in Polná (German Polna ), a town in Okres Jihlava in the Vysočina region ( Czech Republic ), was originally built in 1684. The derelict synagogue has been a protected cultural monument since 1996 .

history

Since 1684 there was a baroque synagogue in the ghetto , which replaced an older prayer room. In 1863 the building was destroyed by fire. The synagogue was then rebuilt.

The synagogue building, which was restored during the 1990s, is now used as a museum and for cultural events. The two permanent exhibitions The Case of Leopold Hilsner and the History of the Jews in the Polná Region are shown.
