The former synagogue in Worms-Pfeddersheim

The former synagogue in the Pfeddersheim district of Worms is a listed building and one of the few remaining synagogues in Rheinhessen .

history

The house, which the Jewish community acquired in 1843 , was immediately and fundamentally renovated and from then on served as a prayer room. A copy of the Torah scroll was kept in a niche in the eastern wall that was later bricked up . The three-axis building was used by the Jewish community in Pfeddersheim until the 1920s, and the adjacent teacher's house provided access to the synagogue. The address is Kleine Amthofstraße 9 .

Current

After the Jewish community no longer needed the building in this form, it is now used for wine tastings organized by Pfeddersheim winemakers . The original shape of the interior can still be seen today.
