The synagogue district of Rüdesheim , based in Rüdesheim am Rhein , a town in the Rheingau-Taunus district in Hesse , was a synagogue district that was created on the basis of the Prussian Jewish Law of 1847 . After the Duchy of Nassau lost the German War on Austria's side in 1866 , it was annexed by Prussia . Before that there were the Nassau synagogue districts .

In addition to the Jewish community of Rüdesheim, the synagogue district also included the Jews in Geisenheim and Winkel .
