Synjak (Ukrainian Синяк ; Russian Sinjak , German Blaubad , Czech Siňák , Hungarian Kékesfüred - older Szinyák ) is a small village with 200 inhabitants in the Mukachevo Raion in the Transcarpathian Oblast in Ukraine .
Synjak is famous for its spa and medicinal water. The sanatorium was first mentioned in writing in 1783, before the shepherds who grazed their animals here had already noticed the healing properties of the spring water. In 1834 Count Philip Franz von Schönborn-Buchheim had a sanatorium built, and in 1837 there were already several accommodations for the guests.
A water mill was built above the spa in 1838, and a small settlement was built around it from 1855. This was created by settlers from the Bohemian Forest (Upper and Lower Zassau; today Horní Cazov and Dolní Cazov ), a total of 22 families came to the freshly cleared areas, they were mainly employed in forestry. The majority of these residents settled in the more favorably located Nizhnya Hrabiwnizja (Ніжня Грабівніця), now part of Tschynadijowo , due to unprofitability . In 1922 a narrow-gauge railway was built to take over the transport of timber down to the valley.
Administratively, the place belongs together with Karpaty to the urban-type settlement Tschynadijowo .
