Syntegon Technology GmbH (until January 15, 2020 Bosch Packaging Technology GmbH ), headquartered in Waiblingen in the Rems-Murr district , is a global provider of process and packaging technology . Until 2019, the company was a division of Robert Bosch GmbH .

In July 2019, Bosch announced that it would sell its packaging division to a newly founded company managed by the holding company CVC Capital Partners . The sales process was completed in January 2020.

The portfolio of intelligent and sustainable technologies includes individual machines, systems and services. In the food industry, the company's portfolio consists of systems for packaging coffee, vegetables and confectionery, among other things. Syntegon Technology was founded in 1969 as Robert Bosch Apparatebau GmbH and a few years later became a division of the Bosch Group. The history of individual subsidiaries is much longer and goes back to the 19th century. From 2002 the company was called "Bosch Packaging Technology". In 2019, Bosch sold its packaging division to the holding company CVC Capital Partners. After the completion of the sales process in January 2020, the name was changed to Syntegon Technology GmbH .

  • 1861: The Geiger & Hesser company is founded. It is considered the cradle of German packaging machine construction. It has been part of Syntegon since 1977.
  • 1911: Hesser builds the first fully automatic packaging machine for coffee. This success story continues to this day at Syntegon.
  • 1958: Höfliger + Karg presents the first automatic capsule filling machine. It is the forerunner of the later Bosch GKF up to the GKF HiProTect. Höfliger + Karg joined Syntegon in 1970.
  • 1969: Foundation of Robert Bosch Apparatebau GmbH with later renaming to Bosch Packaging Technology
  • 1975: Eisai Machinery sells the first automatic inspection machines for the detection of particles in injection solutions. Eisai Machinery has been part of Syntegon since 2012.
  • 1991: First use of isolator technology in filling and sealing machines for ampoules. To date, several hundred isolators have been used by Syntegon's customers.
  • 2014: The linear motor drive technology for horizontal packaging machines replaces chain transport and enables conversion to new formats at the push of a button.
  • 2015: First application of resealable Doy Zip bags on a vertical form, fill and seal machine. To date, Syntegon has developed the technology several times.
  • 2016: Presentation of the world's first sealed paper packaging in cooperation with BillerudKorsnäs. The sustainable paper made from mono-material does not require any additional plastic and is completely recyclable.
  • 2020: Bosch Packaging Technology becomes Syntegon
