System 7 is an English techno - and Ambient - Duo , which is also under the name 777 , Groovy Intent and mirror system came into existence.

biography

The System 7 project was founded in 1990 by Miquette Giraudy ( keyboard , vocals ) and Steve Hillage ( guitar ) and was briefly listed in the English charts several times in the 1990s . For legal reasons, the act used the name 777 in the USA. In 1998 the duo named themselves Groovy Intent for a production of the EP Matsurhythm 1 , and in 2005 the album of the same name was released under the project name Mirror System .

In addition to the duo's sole productions, there have been numerous collaborations , including a. with Derrick May , Alex Paterson (from The Orb ), Carl Craig and Laurent Garnier . System 7 is one of the few techno and ambient acts that use a guitar for their productions.

Altitude , recorded with Ultra Naté , reached # 44 on Billboard Dance Music / Club Play Singles in 1992. System 7 had chart successes in the UK single charts in 1993 with 7: 7 Expansion (39th place) and Sinbad / Quest (74th place). The albums Altitude (with Ultra Naté, 1992) and 777 (1993) were also represented in the British charts .
