Systems computer scientist

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The apprenticeship as a systems IT specialist emerged in the course of the reorganization of the electrical professions and essentially replaces the three areas of communications electronics. In detail, these are information technology , telecommunications technology and communications and radio technology .

Contrary to general assumption, the share of electrical engineering in this job description is weighted much higher than that of IT , which is why the comparison that is often made with the job of IT specialist is not very accurate. A term that comes closest to the actual area of responsibility would be " Electronics technician for communication technology with applied IT", whereby their skills far exceed those of an electronics technician. However, the scope of both training courses is the same.

The networking of industrial information plays a central role here: sensors record electrical and non-electrical process variables such as temperature, pressure, distance, angle, etc., and forward them via a fieldbus system to a process computer (e.g. a microcontroller system ), where they are processed and from where they are possibly transferred to a host computer system for visualization .

Often the training company, supported by training and instruction, appoints the system IT specialist as a system administrator .

The electronics of the sensor circuits, the transmission and interface technology are important training content alongside the microcontroller technology.

The programming languages learned are mainly specified by the training company, such as assembler , C , C ++ , Object Pascal and many more. In the vocational school one mainly relies on the programming languages C for microcontrollers and Java for object-oriented programming on PCs. The centrally designed PAL exams deal particularly with these interrelationships, which is why the IHK uses a microcontroller system that is programmed in C for the exams. The system IT specialist is, however, able to decide on an operational order. This also enables the use of other programming languages.

Effective August 1, 2013, the job title was renamed Electronics Technician for Information and System Technology . This is intended to emphasize the affiliation to the professional group of industrial electrical professions more than before.
