Szaundra Diedrich (born May 18, 1993 in Brilon ) is a German judoka who won a bronze medal at the 2015 European Championships.

Life and athletic career

Diedrich began her sporting career at TV Brilon. Due to numerous successes in youth, she was included in the top squad in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2008. Since she won the European Youth Olympic Festival in Tampere in 2009 , Diedrich has been training at the Federal Performance Center in Cologne, where she lived in the sports boarding school until 2013. She has been in the C-squad of the German Judo Federation since 2010 and won the German championship three times (2010, 2012, 2013), several medals at European cups, the bronze medal at the European championships in 2012 and one at the world championships in 2013 Bronze medal in individual and team competition. Because of her success, she has officially been part of the North Rhine-Westphalia junior elite team since 2014. Since January 1, 2014, it starts with women. Here she was able to win a silver medal at the German championships. After two fifth places at the Grand Prix in Zagreb and Budapest, she was able to win her first medal in this tournament series at the Grand Prix in Astana 2014. This was followed by the silver medal at the Heim Grand Prix in Düsseldorf. Szaundra Diedrich celebrated her greatest success to date at the Grand Prix tournament in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the final she achieved a surprise victory against the two-time world champion Gevrise Emane from France. Three months later, she won a bronze medal at the under the 2015 European Games discharged European Championships . In 2017 she won the title at the German Championships. In 2019 she became the European Police Champion.

In addition to her sporting career, she successfully passed the Abitur at the Hildegard-von-Bingen-Gymnasium in Cologne in 2013 . After that she worked professionally on her judo career.
