Szczebra is a village in Gmina Nowinka in Powiat Augustowski . It is located at an altitude of about 133 meters above sea level in the Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland . The administrative center of the municipality in Nowinka is about three kilometers north of Szczebra. The main sources of income for the village are forestry and agriculture.
In the years 1941–1944, during the executions near Szczebra, the Nazi Germans shot about eight thousand people (Soviet prisoners of war, Jews and Poles).
