The Távora ( Portuguese Rio Távora ) is a left (southern) tributary of the Douro with a length of about 46 km, which flows through the districts of Guarda and Viseu in Portugal . It rises near the town of Trancoso in the Guarda district and flows into the Douro about 1 km below the municipality of Valença do Douro in the Viseu district .

The Távora is dammed up by the Vilar dam to form a reservoir ( Albufeira da Barragem de Vilar in Portuguese ).
