Tårnet ( Norwegian for tower ) is a prominent rock needle in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . In the Sør Rondane Mountains , it rises on the northwest side of Bergersenfjella .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it descriptively, mapped the rock needle in 1957 based on aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947).
