The Daughters of the American Revolution (abbreviated DAR , German "Daughters of the American Revolution") are a patriotic women's association in the United States .

The organization aims to preserve the legacy of the American Revolution of 1776 and aims to foster the memory of the past and promote education and patriotism . For this purpose, it also awards grants and awards.

Their motto is "God, Home, and Country." ("God, home and fatherland.")

The Daughters of the American Revolution are represented in all US states as well as in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

The organization participates in the preservation and restoration of historical monuments through donations and fundraising. In Washington, DC , she runs the Constitution Hall concert hall and a museum that primarily collects household items from the Revolution. • Temporary and state government officials,
• Members of the Continental Congress and corresponding assemblies of the new states,
• Participant in the Boston Tea Party ,
• Prisoners of war, refugees and defenders of fortifications and borders,
• Doctors and nurses who helped wounded revolutionaries
• others who gave material or patriotic support to the revolution.

Prominent members include Laura Bush , Rosalynn Carter , Elizabeth Dole, and Bo Derek .

Notable deceased members included Mary Baker Eddy , María Eulalia of Spain , Ginger Rogers , Grandma Moses , Lillian Gish , Susan B. Anthony, and Janet Reno .
