Tönnies Blome (sculptor)

Tönnies Blome (born before 1632 ; died September 30, 1666 in Hanover ) was a German sculptor and carver .

Life

Tönnies Blome came from a respected Hanoverian family of artisans . After his marriage, he had ten children, but only one daughter, who in turn married a sculptor, reached adulthood.

During the Thirty Years' War , Blome took over the workshop of the murdered sculptor Jeremias Sutel in Hanover in 1632 . From 1637 until his death in 1666, Blome lived in the house at Koebelingerstraße 24 in Hanover .
