Career

Tōru Takagiwa learned to play soccer in the school teams of the Nogi SSS and the Verdy Soccer School Oyama and in the youth team of Shimizu S-Pulse . Here he signed his first professional contract in 2014. The Shimizu club played in the country's highest league, the J1 League . From 2014 to 2015 he played 14 times in the J.League U-22 Selection . This team, which played in the third division, the J3 League , was made up of the best young players from the higher-class clubs. The team was founded with a view to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . The players were selected on a weekly basis from a pool for which each club was able to name talented individuals worth promoting; the composition of the team therefore varied greatly from game to game. At the end of 2015, he had to start the path to the second division with the club. In 2016 he was runner-up with Shimizu in the J2 and rose straight back to the first division. From March 2018 to January 2019 he was loaned to the second division team JEF United Ichihara Chiba in Ichihara . At the beginning of 2020 he moved on loan to the second division club V-Varen Nagasaki in Nagasaki .
