history

In 1856 gas street lights were installed in Buenos Aires and later in other cities. Local gas supply companies were founded for this purpose. In 1945 these companies were nationalized. Under the name "Gas del Estado" the gas supply took place as a state monopoly. As part of the privatization in 1992, the state monopoly Gas del Estado became the TGS, which at the same time lost its monopoly. As part of the privatization, the company was floated on the stock exchange.

TGS is a company listed on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange .
