The TGS Niederrodenbach is a sports club from Niederrodenbach , a district of the municipality of Rodenbach in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district . The association was founded in 1891 and, according to its own information, is the largest association in Rodenbach with around 1150 members and five departments. It offers its members a wide range of sports activities. The TGS is located at the Bulauhalle clubhouse, where most of the sporting events also take place.
The association is divided into the six departments handball , gymnastics / gymnastics , athletics , cross-country skiing , hiking and e-sports .
Handball
The TGS is known nationwide for its handball department, whose men took part in the main round of the DHB Cup in the 1977/78 season , where they were eliminated in the first round by an 18:23 defeat against Reinickendorfer Füchse .
The handball department of the TGS is divided into the following areas: 1st, 2nd and 3rd men's team, women's team as well as female and male youth. Currently, the first men's team, after relegation from the Landesliga Hessen Süd, plays in the district league of Offenbach-Hanau (2017/18 season).
