The TKB-408 was an assault rifle prototype of Soviet weapons designer German A. Korobov and one of the first buttstock loaders -Sturmgewehre the world.

development

Korobow designed the weapon for the competition for the new Soviet infantry weapon after World War II , from which the AK-47 emerged as the winner. The TKB-408 was more unreliable, inaccurate and less durable than the AK-47.

technology

The TKB-408 is a gas pressure charger with a tilting block lock in bullpup design. The cocking lever sits on the left side of the weapon and does not repeat with the bolt carrier. The fire selector lever is also on the left, above the pistol grip. The safety lever is in front of the trigger.
