The Tortour is, among other things, a multi-day non-stop cycle race in Switzerland .

TORTOUR Ultracycling

This was launched in 2007 by Hape Narr, Günter Wagner, Joko Vogel and Matthias Knill. The race starts in Schaffhausen and leads back to Schaffhausen over around 1,000 km and 13,000 meters in altitude . The start of the Tortour has been moved to Zurich for 2020. Start and finish are at the Sihlcity shopping center . The participants need around two days of driving time for the route. The Tortour is the official qualification for the Race Across America in the solo category .

At the start are single drivers (solo), teams of 2, 4 and 6 (corporates) in male, female and mixed categories. Control and changing posts exist approximately every 50 km. The teams only ever have one driver on duty, the others drive in the support vehicle and change at each control post (time station ).

At the start, in the middle of the race and the last stage, the team drives together (150 km in total). The starting order is determined by a prologue in Neuhausen am Rheinfall .

TORTOUR Gravel

The TORTOUR Gravel is the first multi-day stage race on gravel roads and has been held since 2016. Solo or in a team of two, the participants complete a total of 180 kilometers - on the most beautiful gravel routes in Switzerland.
