The TSV Eschollbrücken (officially: Turn- und Sportverein Eschollbrücken-Eich e.V. ) is a sports club from the Pfungstadt district of Eschollbrücken in Hesse . The first women's soccer team took part in the women's DFB Cup three times .

history

The association was created in 1945 through the merger of several associations. The oldest parent club is the Eschollbrücken gymnastics club, founded in 1899 . The football department goes back to the FC Germania Eschollbrücken founded in 1910 . Additional common associations were the Männergesangsverein Eschollbrücken , the workers singing club Eschollbrücken and the glee club Eintracht calibration . In addition to football, the club has the departments of wind band , singing , amateur players, gymnastics & athletics , volleyball and hiking .

Women's soccer

The women's soccer department of TSV was founded on April 1st, 1971. In 1985 the team was one of the twelve founding members of the Oberliga Hessen , which formed the top division in Hessen five years later until the Bundesliga was founded. In 1989 the TSV was relegated and four years later returned to the now second-class league. At the same time, the team took part in the DFB Cup for the first time and lost 5-0 to FSV Frankfurt in the first round . In 1995, the Eschollbrückerinnen won the Hessen Cup and were runner-up in the Oberliga Hessen behind TSV Battenberg .

In the first round of the DFB Cup, the team lost to SC 07 Bad Neuenahr with 1: 3. The last DFB Cup participation took place in the 1997/98 season , when the 12-0 defeat at TSV Crailsheim was also the highest cup defeat in the club's history. On September 1, 2001, the entire women's football department of TSV Eschollbrücken switched to Germania Pfungstadt . TSV Eschollbrücken founded a new women's football department in 2012.

Men's soccer

The men's team of TSV Eschollbrücken has been playing in the Darmstadt district league B since relegation in 2013 .
