The TSV 05 Red is a sports club from the Baden-Württemberg community of St. Leon-Rot . The club was founded in 1905 and offers handball , athletics and gymnastics .
Handball
TSV 05 Rot is known nationwide for its handball department. The men took part in the final round of the German Field Handball Championship in 1951 and 1960 . In addition, the team started in the newly created field handball league in 1967 , but rose there at the end of the 1968 season as the penultimate of the southern season .
In indoor handball, TSV managed to take part in the final round of the German championship in 1953 . In 1981 the team qualified as sixth in the table in the Regionalliga Süd for the new 2nd handball Bundesliga , which replaced the Regionalliga as the second highest division from the 1981/82 season. TSV played there for seven years until it voluntarily withdrew from the 2nd division at the end of the 1987/88 season.
